Elephant Balls: That what Derek had last night...sneaking the DS (small computer game) out of Steves office and into his bed to play with for over an hour...I busted him at 9:05pm. I wanted to smash the game with a hammer. So...the consequence was his forfeited ALL his earned pirate coins. He earns the coins for a few desired behaviors we choose. He can cash them in for rewards/activities. Bye bye coins....kill me. He didn't even act like he cared the coins were removed. Jesus...I am glad we have therapy tomorrow.

So it begins...

Not in a million years did I think I would be raising another child. It only took 8 weekend visits with Derek in our home to convince me. Most of you know the back story to his life, so I feel no need to write about that. He was slick at being too damn cute and he needed us. It's been two years now, and he is still cute, which ensures his survival I always say in jest.

I named this blog "Me Done" because that one one of just a few phrases he could say. He would say this when he was done eating. Nowadays his vocabulary is so large and sentences are so very long and articulate. When he says something so "grown up", we look at each other and say "Me Done". It reminds us of how far Derek has come in two years. Derek was a little over 3 years old when he starting coming for overnight/weekend/holiday visits. We , family and our exceptional daycare family have worked every minute/hour/day to bring him up to speed and age appropriate skills. He is so smart and such a funny little boy. We have a large piece of poster board we have been writing "Derekisms" on. His statements, comments, complaints and observations are funny and we don't want to forget them. They are from this little mouth that never stops now.

He is way past "Me Done". ..thank God.
